I don't know about you, but when I was first securing my WordPress site, and I was researching to find out what others were doing to maintain their blog safe, I found so much information I was completely confused. And some of the information was actually over the top or superstitious. People told me rename this folder, to rename this file and install these ten plugins. It appeared to be a lot of energy and work.

By default, the latest version of WordPress is pretty darn secure. The development team of WordPress has considered anything which may have been added to some secure your wordpress site plugins. In the past , WordPress did have holes but most of them are stuffed up.

I protect an access to important files on the blog's server by placing an index.html file in the particular directory, that hides the files from public view.

First in line is currently creating a password for your account. Passwords must be made with numbers and characters. You make plus altered letters and may combine them. Smarter passwords can be your gateway to zero hackers. Make passwords that are difficult that you can think of.

BACK UP your site and keep a copy read here on your own computer and off-site storage. Back up daily, For those who have a very active site. These are only some of the things I do to protect my blogs. Thing is that they don't require much time to do. These are simple solutions, which can be done easily.
